Joining Chris Spheeris at the opening event Thursday evening, February 7^th, 2013, is a special keynote talk by Steven A. Ross, Ph.D., President & CEO of The World Research Foundation. Ross will share “The Nature, Mind and Heart of Healing”. The World Research Foundation is considered a principal source regarding alternative medicine treatments and therapies. Another truly special keynote will be offered on Saturday, February 9^th, 2013 presenting Rama Jyoti Vernon on “Creating Peace, Individual to Global”.Rama Jyoti has traveled extensively on missions of citizen diplomacy, mediation and healing on a global level. She will share stories from her vast background, and speak on the spiritual principles of resolving conflict in our lives and in our world. SYF2013 also welcomes New York Times bestselling author of The Sedona Method and longtime yogi, Hale Dwoskin, who will be sharing the workshop “Mastering The Yoga of Emotion with The Sedona Method”.

Local visionary Chris Spheeris kicks off the weekend Thursday evening at the Sedona Creative Life Center. Chris will open the portal with a celebration of Unity consciousness. Through spoken word, poetry, and improvised solo piano, Chris will describe and convey his own sense of Bhakti Yoga through the living state of sustained Presence. He will also offer workshops throughout the weekend. Chris is an internationally renowned, Emmy Award winning recording artist who now shares his inspired state of Being through workshops and spontaneous public appearances.

Kirtan chant artist and sacred singer songwriter David Newman Durga Das shares devotional music and the spiritual, meditative and musical aspects of yoga on Friday evening. He and his wife Mira also offer a workshop, Bhakti Yoga: the Way of Love, teaching how to access the wisdom of your heart through this ancient yet timely practice.

SYF2013 also welcomes Mark Whitwell in support of the Heart of Yoga Peace Project. It’s August and the Sedona Yoga Festival & Healing Arts Conference (SYF2013) has been welcomed by the world and is an expansive platform for the yoga and energy consciousness community. Bhakti Tribe Sedona is booking kirtan and devotional music for multiple venues both Friday and Saturday nights with confirmed guest David Newman|Durga Das, as well as local artist Three Trees of Sedona. Sedona is a mecca for the Healing Arts.  It is a spiritual place that has been honored for lifetimes by indigenous cultures for its beauty, energy and mysticism.  Today, Sedona brings millions of people a year through this community and shares the Great Mystery wrapped in red-rock splendor, energy vortexes and the majestic Oak Creek Canyon.  There is something here for everyone!  And now, for the first time ever…

The first annual Sedona Yoga Festival!  A Healing Arts Conference and conscious event, SYF2013 aims to share consciousness and Love with humanity through its developing first year program.  Our vision is to create an environment to allow the wonderful and healing benefits of Yoga and Energy Medicine to positively uplift each and every individual who is touched by this cause.  That’s right!  SYF is a global call to action for those who are ready to shift the very fabric of reality around us.  The healing arts, including Yoga and mediation are an access point to higher consciousness; to a higher vibrational reality… to LOVE, the Universal Vibration.

Our presenters and speakers, along with our partners the Living Energy Workshop Series and Bhakti Tribe Sedona, are all aware of the contribution we each make to human consciousness.  Our devotional practices bring about individual health and wellness, inner peace, tranquility and a deep sense of connection to All that Is.  These practices are ‘game-changers’, often bringing about tremendous uplifting shifts for people and healing beyond comprehension.  (I, myself was told 12 years ago that I would never walk again without a cane… and yet with Yoga and Energy Medicine here I am today… healthy, happy, prosperous and physically in the best “shape” of my life!)

The SYF2013 weekend of February 7-11th will bring about the opportunity for individual healing, to be sure, however with so many people in one place and the energy of Sedona supporting us, we will most definitely have a vibrational impact on a global scale.  We will shift the fabric of reality with our consciousness and contribute peaceful and tranquil vibrations on a planetary scale.  This is what is possible, we know and some of the experts that have proven this scientifically will be here.

Planning for the Sedona Yoga Festival, scheduled for February 15th-18th, 2013, is making giant leaps this week.  We are talking with a local venue that seems perfect, which will allow for a central location for the festival and major workshop events.  It supports our vision of promoting local studios and practitioners alongside members of the national and international yoga community.  We also gained a major sponsor and continue to receive inquiries for presenters/workshops, and vendor tents and booths in a secure village marketplace.  Festival patrons will enjoy shopping and nourishment throughout the weekend as they come and go from the main campus – as well as to and from local yoga studios, cafes etc.   SYF patrons will return to Sedona for years to come, as this annual festival will give audience to the local yoga, healing and conscious living community as well as retail, restaurant and lodging businesses.

We opened the application process to be a presenter at the Sedona Yoga Festival.  If you have an idea for a workshop or presentation, please submit it early so that we can add it to the creative process of planning this 3-day schedule.  We have already received several inspiring and unique workshop proposals and master panel workshops.  Please be adventurous and insightful with your presentation ideas, knowing event participants are very interested in practical yoga for the modern experience.  If you are a teacher who has found unique ways to maintain inner peace, we would like to hear from you. If you have music that soothes the soul, we would like to also invite you.  For Ayurveda practitioners, this venue has a separate and very special space with a kitchenette.
