The Heart is the balance point and center of the seven-chakra
energetic system. Tantric Yoga practices will help us open our bodies,
minds and spirits to the possibility of living and acting from the
heart. In this healing session, we will combine asana, mudra, mantra and
meditation to balance Anahata Chakra (the heart center).
Rachel Ali Hollingsworth, MS RYT-500, has been studying and practicing yoga since 1998, teaching Hatha yoga since 2005 in both the US and abroad, and teaching Kundalini Yoga since 2009. Her yoga classes often blend a strong asana practice with an energetic or esoteric focus, although she also has extensive experience teaching yoga to beginners and those with physical limitations.
Rachel earned her Master of Sciences degree in Exercise Physiology at Arizona State University in 1996, worked in the fitness industry for more than a decade, and began teaching physical education and health in colleges in 2002. Between 2004 and 2007, Rachel spread the joys of physical fitness and yoga to the tiny island of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia in the developing world, a country where the majority of students had never taken a yoga class before, and had almost no concept of yogic practices. She co-founded her yoga retreats business, Akupara Yoga, in 2008. Her company specializes in designing week-long getaways to beautiful, natural settings, where the spiritual aspects of a yogic journey are celebrated.
