New to Acroyoga? Come learn the foundations and principals of partner balance/counterbalances, bone stacking, spatial intelligence, and play! ACROYOGA is a celebration in fusion of traditional yoga with innovation in contemporary movements wherein we experience divine harmony through presence and balance with another. In a safe and nurturing environment, through partnering, we cultivate trust, loving kindness, and playfulness through asana, conditioning/core strengthening, partner stretches, balances, inversions, therapeutic basing/flying/spotting, and Thai massage elements to open joints and lengthen muscles.  Bringing a partner is unnecessary but welcome; there will be plenty of people to play with!

SlackroYoga Vinyasa for Athletes (Acrobatic Yoga Flow)

Join me for this dynamic redefinition of balance, spatial intelligence, and precision. Smooth your transitions and flow between static poses and rapid ranges of motion. Connect with your breath to use it as a force of power, focus and timing.  We’ll warm up with partner stretches and continue solo style through vigorous rolling vinyasas, balances and inversions to help you break barriers in your yoga and athletic practices. This blend of traditional Yoga, Slackro (acrobatics for slackliners), AcroYoga Mtl. and Tai Chi elements will enhance your athletic performance.  You are going to have fun, and you will most likely sweat. Fuel up earlier and be ready to roll. We’ll have some informal play time after for socializing and Q&A.

Whitney Zama, ERYT, MFA, Certified AcroYoga Mtl.and YogaSlacker (Slackline Yoga) instructor is passionate about inspiring people to see old things in new ways, expanding presence and vision, and empowering people through yoga and play. Her practice and teaching of yoga, acroyoga, and slackline yoga reflect her true love for art, especially the kinesthetic.  She feels honored to share her ongoing love affair with various yoga modalities with her Phoenix Metro community including Lifetime Fitness, Arizona State University, AZ on the Rocks, Yoga Village and many more.

Whitney’s Acroyoga is a celebration in fusion of traditional yoga with innovation in contemporary movements wherein students experience divine harmony through presence and balance with another.

She manages the group AcroYoga Phoenix in teaching, performing with other acroyogis, and sharing the practices of acroyoga and slacklining at events throughout valley. She includes elements from her Thai Massage training in Chiang Mai as a way to share loving kindness and open joints after the rigors of training.

Recently finishing her graduate degree in Fine Arts from Arizona State University, she continues to traveling the world, photographing and making art, exhibiting in local galleries. She explores all things outdoors including hiking, camping, rock climbing and river rafting. Above all, she loves spending time with her four children who share the same passion and energy for life, while making her home in Chandler a place of joy and peace for them.
