Yoga Nidra: a sleep-based guided meditation that uses a series of breath, body and mindfulness techniques that mimic the natural sleep cycle. It is done lying down on the floor or ground, with a mat or pad under you… put something under your knees if lying down puts tension in your lower back… a small, very small pillow under the head, chin slightly tucked… ever so slightly. Be absolutely comfortable, as for most of it you will be still as a statue. Use an eye pillow if it suits you and have a blanket ready to cover yourself as your body temperature is likely to drop.
